recovery radio on its way
today 5/1/13 was the first meeting of the year for the recovery radio team.in all 14 people attended.A mix of culture, age and background.each with their own talent but all with the one goal.to bring recovery radio to life.before nick(the founder of recovery radio) could get started on the workbook, ideas were flying around the room.grown adults had their hands in the air like school children eager to express their opinion or voice their idea.negativity was nowhere to be found.it was positive thinking all round.nick took everyone step by step through the work book, every now and then getting side tracked by questions and ideas alike.
soon came time for a cupper and a fag, there was tea and coffee for all, even pepper mint and green tea for those with finer tastes.everyone was out side getting to know each other, expressing their thoughts and opinions, no sooner the fag was lit and everyone was back in side for the second half of a nearly 3hr meeting.it was not one of those meetings where people were bored and looking forward to going home, in fact it was quite the opposite.you could see the enthusiasm in each persons face and near it in their voice each time they spoke.when the workbook and brain storming was finished the group of 14 was split in 3.each with the task of working together and coming up with ideas for a podcast.no sooner had the groups got together when one of the 3 had finished, with top ideas too.after ten minutes or so all groups had pens down and each took turns on explaining their shows.each group had original and great ideas, and all had one thing in common, which was to educate or quite simply as nick put it, to inspire, promote and celebrate recovery.
our next meeting is on next saturday 12th jan at 10:45 in ardenleigh house, on kingsbury road, erdington, b24 9sb.
if you have any interest in joining then please contact nick on 07426060431.the first rule to recovery radio is to tel everybody about recovery radio.
