About Us

Hello and welcome to the part that tells you a bit about us and what we do at UKRR.

UK Recover Radio (UKRR) was started by a Birmingham recovery worker who had a bit of experience in radio production,  he decided to submit a proposal to the Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust - Board Challenge Awards and won runner up prize in the Lightbulb Moment Award. UKRR aims to make 12 documentary style 'Purple Bull Podcasts' that Inspire, Promote and Celebrate Recovery from addictions as well as to inform and educate our communities about recovery. All the work that goes into our podcasts is solely done by members of the recovery community, using there own equipment and travel as we are not yet being funded.

UKRR members are constantly researching and developing feature ideas, collecting and arranging interviews that will be recorded and then edited,  to be published in our up and coming podcasts. We all enjoy going out within the community, attending events, conferences, meeting others in recovery and also seeing and hearing from the professionals, getting their take on certain changes or lack there of, arranging, conducting, recording editing and just co-ordination of the UKRR members and contributors.

We have had and continue to have an absolutely brilliant time working with, and learning new skills from each other. also just trying new things and experiencing new situations that are a million miles from anything, any of us thought of doing, let alone actually getting out there and now having our first podcast out, which has already reached over 250 plays on our website.
