Welcome to the first ever Purple Bull Podcast from UK Recovery Radio. Starting from scratch in January 2013, this is the work of fifteen recovering volunteers who have interviewed people in recovery and professionals across the addictions field.   1. I sincerely thought this was an absolutely wonderful first episode. Even though my association with it is only in a very small way, I am really proud of it. This is a unique, inspiring, challenging, uplifting and fascinating hour of radio and you have done yourselves, your city and your community incredibly proud. I cannot wait for the next one.

  6. Recovery is a lasting return to the natural state of relaxed abstinence and non-criminality into which 99% of the population is born.

    70 to 75% of the addicted population still want to achieve this even though they may have failed numerous times. Their problem is not willingness. They just don't know how to do it.

    The procedure which works is not more treatment. It is training in self-help addiction recovery techniques which works in 55 to 70+% of cases first time through an 18 to 28 week residential training programme. The goal is 12 months free of any and all addictive substance usage, which history shows seldom if ever results in a return to addictive usage.
