UKRR Newsletter release date and Interview update.

Hello and a warm welcome to you all x

We at UKRR are so thrilled to be releasing our First ever UKRR Newsletter on the 5th of September 2013.
Please keep your eye on our blog and Facebook page for our UKRR Newsletter and other things we have been working on.

UKRR Members have also been busy again collecting more material for our upcoming podcasts. We have had so much fun and learnt so much from these latest interviews that we at UKRR, really want to get into working with and linking other organisations`s like ours.

We believe, if we are united, we can accomplish anything!!!

Human Kindness has nearly disappeared and UKRR (UK Recovery Radio), BCDS (Birmingham Crime Diversion Scheme) and others are all working to make that statement become meaningful and factual.

We had an amazing Interview with a guy called Clifton Cameron who is the Managing Director of Birmingham Crime Diversion Scheme and Birmingham Youth Employment Scheme. Clifton has been working in this field for over 30 years.
BCDS started in Feb 2011, it aims to help young people, get out of the criminal justice system, like ex offenders and serving in mates still in prison Doing early interventions always helps so Ex-offenders going into schools to teach about the risks of offending, how they got out and what they can do to help, by using sports or role playing sessions can only be a good thing. Peer mentoring goes on in the prisons and helps to encourage people away from crime. Ex-Offenders sharing their experiences with others, shows that their is someone who understands because they have been there and done, it so to speak and that getting out can be achievable for them as well.

We also had an amazing interview with Sergeant Paul Street, who is a police officer with the West Midlands Police, Paul also works as a Birmingham Partnership team member, working with UKRR and many others. Paul does a fantastic job researching funding and doing what he can to help organisations like UKRR succeed, as well as changing the image of the Police Force and its Officers from that of Enforcers only to people who want to help make a change for the best in Birmingham.

Both of the above people that we interviewed gave some really great answers to our questions and we also found out a lot about other organisations and people, who just want the best for others, as well as themselves. Thank You both for your time and hope to work with you for a long time to come.

The other interview that really stood out for UKRR Members was from our good friends James Forsyth,a Service User and Volunteer from Coventry and Simon Morgan a service provider worker, also in Coventry who could easily be the next BIG Comedy Duo for sure. We find them so entertaining as a pair, that we chose them for that reason. The UKRR team know that our listeners need cheering up and just want to smile sometimes and these two, are the guys to do it. As you will hear in the interview James and Simon are definitely a great pair of guys who enjoy making people smile. There should be more like them. Both gave absolutely great answers and We enjoy hearing their take on certain subjects and their company and do hope they will both be around and on UKRR in the future. Thank you to you both for such entertainment that will become a classic in the future.
