UKRR Sports Report

Hi everyone,  more updates from UKRR members, attending different events.

So as you may know, Friday (24/05/2013), was the Changes UK Recovery Celebration Football Tournament.
Absolutely Great day it was, a little chilly and wet but very entertaining and a lot of fun was had by everyone.

Can I say a Huge WELL DONE to Park house, 2013 Runners Up and a MEGA WELL DONE to SWANSWELL who won the tournament. Photos, presentations and a real laugh were readily available during the awarding of the trophies.  There was a buffet to feed the troops after the tournament and tea and coffee on tap to keep you warm while watching the football  :-)  Had a few scares where I thought the ball was going to hit me in the face, but I got away unscathed, Thankfully :-)
Well done to all the teams that took part. You all did so well and kept us amused for the couple of hours you played in the cold and rain. Really enjoyed being part of the Recovery Community and most of all the Recovery Celebrations. Got to promote the UK Recovery Walk 2013 BIRMINGHAM, (September 22nd 2013, Make sure you are all there, put that date in your diaries..)
We met some new people, people we already knew and also saw a few faces from the past, that made us happy to see each other, going from Addictions to leading a healthy life and being HAPPY. We really hope these events continue and UKRR Members will be there with no hesitations  :-)

We have held the second discussion and recording of our podcast feature `Step up to the plate' part 2.
Thank you so much to the guys and girls that showed up to join in and help us inform and educate our communities about 12 steps and anything Recovery Orientated. Yet again we had a great discussion about steps 3 &4 in the 12 step fellowship.

Our next podcast which includes, Harm reduction, Step up to the Plate - Part 2 and keep coming back should be ready for publishing in the next 2 weeks, really exciting stuff hey!!!

We also had various meetings last week to help move UKRR Forward, which went better than we expected. UKRR Members have conducted and recorded a good amount of really interesting interviews and continue to do so.

We are all having so much fun, Learning and meeting people we never dreamed of, trying to give back to the community and inspire others to get help and get out of the life and cycle of Addiction and start their own Recovery Journey.

Take Care til Next time :-)
