UK RECOVERY RADIO EVENTS REPORT.

Hello Everyone,  Hope you are all as well as can be.

UK Recovery Radio have been out and about at different places this week spreading the word about us and also to do some learning for ourselves, at both the places we attended.
First up this week we two UKRR Representatives attended a Social Media Course held at Kingstanding Leisure center. Here is what happened.....

I cans say we had a good few laughs as well as learning some really useful stuff, not only from the tutor but also from the other people who also attended the course. Among others there were West Midlands Police Officers, Arrest Referral Worker for West Midlands Police, a Birmingham City Council Member and also a guy who just wanted to know how to promote his business online using Social Media Sites.
By the end of the course we had secured some valuable knowledge that will help us guide UKRR on the path to success.

We were then invited to 'The Recovery Community Fair' at Small Heath Medical Centre, Small Heath, Birmingham. We had a really good feeling that, with the turnout looking promising, it was set to be an interesting Event. There was Live entertainment and also different kinds of live music, people talking about Past experience but expressing it through singing and acting out poems.
There were stands in the health center that represented lots of different services and the hustle and bustle of people going to various stands and having chats about all different topics. It was basically a really happy Positive and enjoyable atmosphere.  There were little treats scattered around in some of the rooms, for example in one room there was a Young Lady, who was doing really beautiful drawings on hands of the people coming to her, for free and she was so quick at it but the end result was amazing.... You know I had one done and I LOVE IT lol :)
In another room, there was a Pedal your own smoothie bike and yes it did exactly what it says on the tin lol.  You had to pedal the bike, in order to spin the blender, that in turn produced your Smoothie. There were loads of other great stuff also including the Curry and Biryani and cakes plus drinks that were provided, it was delicious, Thank You. I  also want to say Thank You so much, to the people that we Interviewed and also we look forward to meeting the people we have arranged to Interview in the near future. We made a whole heap of contacts and gave our flyers to so many people, that specifically requested one, so we know we are getting there and doing something right.
Will Blog to you all again soon but until then Take Care of Yourselves and Each Other xxxx
